Sorry, I never bought into the appeasement game.
Our allies know us for who we are. Our enemies fear us for what we might do. A good balance, I should think. Look who is complaining, Syria, China, Ghana and Brazil. Don't you find it a little disingenuous that a monarchy, (Syria), and a communist country, (China), want a represenative form of governing of the Internet. We started the Internet, we funded most of it and it has thrived. When someone has a real complaint that they are somehow being injured by the US running it then we should talk. The UN has already proposed a tax on the Internet to fund it's various activities and build infrastructure in the third world. They are also totally ineffective and incapable of running anything. I say the US has taken exactly the right stance on this!
