But in Linux, you don't have the risk of having adware accidently installed (perhaps due to downloading a freeware program, like Kaaza for instance, or perhaps due to clicking a URL or attachment in Outlook which links you to a virus and/or adware infected file) which then proceeds to pop up ads using IE even when you are not web browsing. Because, remember, IE with all its holes is still there even if you don't use it.
