To address your point one at a time:

[First we had USA demanding flight data, and EU ignoring their own rules, hands it over.]

The USA has a right to know who is entering their country. There are no violations of "privacy" here.

[Then we had EU citizens in Gitmo and EU says nothing.]

Britain got their citizens back from Gitmo. Guess it pays to be a FRIEND of the US.

[Then USA wants biometric passports for the visa waiver, and EU forces them on us,]

Technology upgrades for visas have happened for years. I remember when only black and white photos were to be used on passports. Not only should you have nothing to hide with your identity papers, but you should WANT the US to make sure that no one PRETENDING to be you can enter the US.

[then CIA agents kidnap a person in Italy and nobody says anything.]

Oh come on - like this never happens? Israel kidnapped Eichman. Even the Brits kidnapped the "Great Train Robber". Ignoring extradition requests is not a friendly gesture.

[Now the USA says the Internet is its (or rather Verisigns).]

The USA CREATED the internet! Remember that Al Gore is the father of the internet!
