"What concerns him, he said, are lax standards for applying the surveillance powers.."
Yup. And who made sure these "standards" were set up? The US federal government, the same criminal bunch that claims it's "protecting" people.
I live in New York, and you'd have to be a retard to even bother suggesting that Bush and co. are stopping terror. NO ONE could stop carefully planned terrorist iniatives, even if they truly wanted to. There's too much land to protect and not enough men to do so. So to even bother suggesting that Bush has saved us from terrorists is the public admission of a naive, might we say dumb, mind.
Real Americans would wonder where our air cover was that day. Real Americans would wonder why Rumsfeld, the only official that day with the power to order the shoot down of planes, was deliberately absent (as was our other "leaders", Bush, Cheney, etc..where were these guys that whole day??) Real Americans would wonder why no American has seen video footage of the Pentagon crash, even though the area surrounding the Pentagon is the most surveilled area on the face of the earth. Real Americans would wonder why the US federal government is allowing people to get away with setting up massive "put" options on AA and UA stock, the very airlines which would suffer the brunt of the attacks that day (BTW, that's also why the feds gave a 15 BILLION dollar payout to the airlines right after the attack).

Believe it or not, on the very day of 9/11 there were a bunch of Pentagon "war games" being conducted, and would you believe it..there was actually a simulation of an attack on the WTC complex by kamikaze airplanes..basically a simulation of the real attack! Scheduled for the very same day! What a coinkidink! This link below goes to show that the flight controllers were aware of the simulations and were actually asking whether or not what was happening was part of the planned drill, or was actually real:
