Alas, I suggest you read the fine print that applies Open Source Software
Remember, Google has chosen to use an open source video and audio player called "VLC"(videolan) as it is eminently useable in the major pc operating systems available to the end user. I would suggest one read very carefully the basic GPL Software License, that comes with all Open Source Projects! including the key that the end user is permitted to modify and or enhance said software and allow other users to do so without any form of restriction whatsoever! As with all news, one really needs to research the facts for any news story, as in this day and age the majority of news supplied today omits facts and allows bias to create spin in any direction the writer seeks to fly! A visit to the horses mouth is in order here.
