You Want Wackos To Know Where YOU Live?

I was an Ebay power seller that ran a business out of my home. I did make my address known, but I can certainly understand the desire to remove it.

As a power seller, I was doing hundreds of transactions per month. That's hundreds of people who I don't know that know where I live. Occasionally, you get someone who wants to stop by your house to pick up their item instead of paying shipping costs. You tell them no, but they don't HAVE to listen to you since they already know your address. Do you really want some internet stanger visiting YOUR house, where you keep all your inventory, your possessions, and your wife and children? I don't think so.

On top of that, the vast majority of transactions are fine. However, there are occasionally customers that are too demanding. They don't realize that you need a good reason to accept a return. They don't realize that no matter how thoroughly you wrap an item, that it can still break in the mail. They don't realize that you only make $2 on an item, so you can't give it to them for $5 off. And then, EACH of these people start sending flame mails to you. Do you really want these wackos to KNOW where YOU live? I certainly don't.
