Oh crap happens
Cripple a product before it sells in commercial quantities is never a good idea! for it reduces the incentive to purchase new technology , a classic example was the mediocre sales of colour tv's until all tv stations commenced to broadcast all programs in colour! Think of the modern motor vehicle, apply its safety and antipollution requirements to the first primitive motor vehicles, none would have left the factory then! Choices choices choices!
