if they already had thier code in order, and then started talking about extending, would it still be considered E,E,E? me thinks so.

I think it is anti-competitive to ask any company to not try improve on a standard, until everyone else (including the competition, catches up and says "Ok.... now!"

I agree that MS has a lot to gain gy creating FUD but FUD and FUD alone doesn't prevail in the marketplace, they will still have to deliver or be over taken by thier rivals. Competitors to microsoft should take note and make sure they deliver something better that will keep thier current instalation base.
