I see definite trumped up cause-and-effect passages here.
From the article: "Children who make themselves accessible to parents and friends via phone, game console or other always-on gadgets also open themselves up to unwanted communication." Suggesting that if this gadget didn't EXIST, there wouldn't be any so-called "unwanted communication."

Also, from the article: "Over the weekend, British police announced that they had arrested three 14-year-old boys in connection with the alleged rape of an 11-year-old girl whose attack was videotaped and sent to peers at her North London school." As if the ABILITY to take the video was the CAUSE of the attack.

I see these as definite attempts to point at the new technology as the CAUSE of these forms of aberrant behavior, rather than stating the fact that these things are older than playgrounds. But, heck, anybody else want to weigh in here ... either agreeing with me or telling me I'm reading too much into this?
