Opera 8.01 - Begninning of the end?
Opera Software decided that with 8.01, it would have the browser connecting to its home server (owned and operated by Opera Software), each time it was launched. On the surface, this appears to be done to update the new HTML-based search panel. But in actuality, it allows Opera Software to monitor usage statistics. Do YOU want Opera Software knowing when and how often you run their product?
