MS Should Make WMP More Like iTunes
I personally prefer looking up songs with the iTunes application because of its interface. Its interface is fast and responsive - like what you would find on a GUI application. WMP uses an HTML interface to review and download songs. WMP's interface is slow and clumsy, and it also makes you jump to web pages for different partner?s web sites at times, making the user experience inconsistent and somewhat frustrating. MS talks a lot about smart clients. I believe a lot of the reason people like iTunes is because it is an effective smart client application. Also iTunes seems more coherent than WMP. Finally I believe WMP could do well with a much richer sounding equalizer.

As for renting songs ? I just don?t know. That sounds a lot like leasing a car. At the end of the lease, the user walks away with nothing. I don?t think a lot of money conscious consumers are going to go for that.
