Now Peter, how about that clincher...
the links that mention the worms, viruses, etc. out there and how many Firefox users have machines that are under someone else's control. Vulnerablilty schmulnerablilty, at this point in time, you still have considerable less of a chance of having uninvited visitors in your computer if you use IE, whether from its flaws or features. Oh, you are waiting for IE7. What do you use now? Wanna bet there will be at least 2 severe vulnerablities that will have to be patched within 2 weeks of the initial release (not beta) of IE7, and that one of them was initially fixed in IE5 or before?

BTW, why is it that everytime a flaw is discovered in FF, we have to have these feel-good articles about how FF's share is growing (but slowing) etc?

Because as of now, there are no reports of anybody actually being infected by any of these flaws; they are fixed soon after they are discovered; and Firefox users, being more technically savvy on the average, install these updates as soon as they are available. How is that for an answer to your question?

Of the 66% (conservative estimate) of all internet users that have some kind of malware on their computers, how many of them do you think got infected directly by a flaw in Firefox. I'll bet close to 0. I'll take those odds. You keep patching and waiting for IE7.
