As a parent

Recently my 11 year old typed the word 'seven' into a google search and, as with a substantial number of searches, pornagraphic material links became available to click on. The .xxx would allow me to hands down block these types of sites from entering my home. Asking "what happens if controvertial material like information on homosexuality, abortion, and sex education" are forced to use .xxx is missing the point of the .xxx suffix. Homosexuallity can be discussed without showing pictures of sodomy. Sex education does not have to include graphic pictures of people engaged in intercourse. The point of .xxx is to allow people who desire to view such things a place to do so with out sullying the rest of society. It gives me a better chance to exercise my freedom of choice of what material I desire to enter my home. I truly hope that folks in the porn industry wholesale move to this new suffix. Sadly I feel that the porn industry desires to 'sneak' in to homes to lure more viewing of the material that has been proven to be as addictive as drugs, alchohol, and tobacco.
I say kudos to those who finally got the suffix as a choice and look forward to a day where I don't have to worry about viewing pornography unless I choose to do so.
