mjb you are so right and some sure signs that someone is addicted
Weekends and vacations are sacrosanct to me. I do not get to enjoy regular time off so when those odd times show up email is the last thing I think about.

Maybe there is a 12 step program that those folks need to look into. I can see it now.

Hi my name is Bitty and I am addicted to email. I hide palm pilots in the toilet paper rolls in the bathroom so that I can check my e-mail while I go to the bathroom. I have been known to interrupt intamacy with my mate because I heard my "You've got mail" announcement on my pc that is never turned off because I need to know when the e-mail comes in. I love my email so much that my new name is Bitty@Byte.cc

Addicted to E-Mail (from the Internet)?
You know you're an e-mail junkie when...
1. You wake up at 3 a.m. to go to the bathroom and stop to check your e-mail on the way back to bed.

2.You turn off your modem and get this awful empty feeling, like you just pulled the plug on a loved one.

3. You start using smileys in your snail mail.

4.You find yourself typing "com" after every period when using a word processor.com

5. All of your friends have an @ in their name.

6. You check your e-mail. It says "no new messages", so you check it again.

7. You don't know what sex three of your closest friends are, because they have neutral nicknames and you never bothered to ask.

8. You start tilting your head sideways to smile.

And then there is this to justify your addiction if you are an email addict. Damn Enablers :
