The solution is easy
DRM isn't the answer because any method used to lock a file will be broken. Going after torrent sites won't work because users will just find another way. How would the authorities even know what was being downloaded if a large group of friends decided to start sharing encrypted files.

The antipiracy people need to realize that the solution to piracy is as simple as giving your customers the products that they want.

The RIAA/MPAA needs to stop their futile crusade against downloaders and face the truth. The problem isn't technology, it's their outdated business model. But if they don't wise up soon, the problem WILL become the technology.

Some artists are already bypassing the recording studios and are recording and distributing their music direct to consumers. As technology improves many movie producers are likely to do the same. Where will the music studios and movie distributers be then?

iTunes is successful because many people want a way to purchase music online and have reasonable fair use rights to the products they buy. The same is true for all digital content.
