What does "join" mean?
---When you JOIN an OSS organization, you AGREE to WORK
WITH THEM.---

How exactly did Apple "join" an OSS organization? Every source I
can find refers to Apple choosing the KHTML code, but not them
becoming part of the organization that makes it.

---If you join, and give lip service to working together and then
just do things unilaterally - then you lied when you joined.---

What if your business and coding process was different from that
of the organization (which you never joined in the first place)?
Should you have to completely reorganize your business process
and potentially harm your customers just to make the OSS folks
feel better? Case in point, the patches--should Apple have left
their customer vulnerable because the KHTML people didn't like
the patches Apple slapped together because they weren't pretty
enough? Are you suggesting that if a proprietary company
wants to use any OSS code, they have to be willing to damage
their business?

---Apple had NO INTENTION of working with the KDE folks -
they wanted the code and that's it---

All of which they were perfectly welcome to do under the license
the KDE people chose. If they didn't want a situation where
people could use their code and not be best hand-holding
friends with them, why release it under a license that allows just
that?
