That has nothing to do with Firefox's updates
MS does not control Firefox's update methods any more than any other third party application. Mozilla has no one to blame but themselves on that one. If security is going to be a selling point, then the update process needs to be in order.

And the situation you talk about only applies to MS owned sites. And really, other than trips to WindowsUpdate (which can be avoided if you use the autoupdate utility) what reason do average users have to go to their web sites anyway? I mean even if it's to use MSN's site, MSN isn't all that (at least they don't have much of anything you can't find a dozen other places), and besides a quick check there shows the web page renders just fine in Firefox.
