Arguments?
First off this is DNS problem. For all you know this was not any problem on Google's side with their DNS servers (and it seems it wasn't)...

Now please do not spread more ignorance Loverock. Just because you have not heard or cared to hear about the stories of MSN/Microsoft servers going down once in a while for hours in the last half a year or so does not mean Microsoft has no issues. Since I run Linux fulltime on my box, keep it on 24/7 (to your disbelief it is that stable) and am on MSN, AIM and Jabber, I know when the servers go down--also #gaim on Freenode usually says in their topic when the servers are in trouble. So please don't go into who has more trouble with their servers because we can Google the stories (and believe me they do not sensore results).

Also please stop with the FUD for Linux. Believe me that if you were to power Google with Windows servers then Microsoft would certainly be ahead of Google. I stepped away from the Windows (family) box in the other room for half an hour today and when I'm back there's spyware on it. Took me a half an hour to spot it an then another 20 minutes to manually destroy it. Keep in mind I've setup IPSec rules, antivirus software, Microsoft AntiSpyware (which never stopped or detected the spyware) and my family is quite careful with where they and what they use. Google's Linux infrustructure allows them to concentrate on costeffectively providing customers with great services while Microsoft is more concerned with business and making money (not to mention ripping of ideas from Google).

Its pretty late and I'm off to sleep. Enough said. Please present any arguments for tomorrow if you will, as to why you believe a Microsoft solution would allow Google to costeffectively provide customers with great services and maintain huge clusters with minimal downtimes of the site. Also list what exactly your complaints are about privacy, Gmail, web-accelerator and the search engine... Because I've got none.
