Google's privacy policy says it will not be used or sold. And the web accelerator (according to the article) can be turned off at will, or cleared. The company has said that it doesn't plan to sell and if they change their mind, they will aggressively notify users, and give them an out. (according to this article http://news.zdnet.com/2100-9588_22-5698447-2.html?tag=st.next)

Every one is just afraid that Google wants to screw up the world, except they have no reason to. They are making better margins on ads than most marketing firms could dream of.

I am not saying this couldn't happen, but it would have to take quite the change from the CEO's. I wouldn't be afraid until one of them leaves. All the company wants to be able to do is enable the best access possible to information.
