While I agree with much of what Roger says, some things are not quite that way. Ex. Blankets are not what we would put on our beds - those fragile things would not hold up for what they get used for. The typical aid blanket is less expensive than what we would buy, New as opposed to used up and ready to recycle to the "poor", and with a durability that would remind you of a moving pad from several years ago and usful as a tent as well as a bedroll. plus, if you spec them out locally and actually get what is speced out, the local economy does get a boost and you don't pay to ship weight and volume.

I like the idea of sending trucks with the food. Now just to address that nagging road problem.
