I could be wrong but isn't dual core going to cause a major heat problem, and no matter what...shorten the life of the chip?

The heat situation probably won't be too bad. Just means you need a better set of fans - both on the CPU and on the case. And thanks to the Easy Bake Oven chip (read: Intel Prescott P4) reducing heat on CPUs is something that can be dealt with.

It's either that or use a mini version of a cooling tower for a nuclear reactor - They're making them too.
