I see your $150 and drop it by 1/3rd..
That's $150 Canadian for 2.4 Ghz Athlong 64. So figure exchange and that'd be about $120 US. Pretty much double.

I found at least 3 vendors who had an Athlon 64 2800+ on PriceWatch.com for $99 USD (give or take a buck). Gotta look harder... happy

I'd guess that $64 should have been $640.

Close... By the time I read the article, it would seem that someone fixed the typo to $643.

Then again, I do believe they're talking about lots of 1000 chips and the wholesale to manufacturer prices. $64 bucks each for 1000 chips would make for a nice margin on the lowest end chip.
