This who you'd pay
You'd pay for content.

So sure you'd be able to connect to the ever present signals but so what? Who care. That's like being connected to the internet but only being able to ping anywhere in the world but nothing else. Sure you'd be able to set up something with a buddy, do some online gaming over it or something but you still have to buy the game for example.

Where you start paying is when you want all those TV channels. When you want all those movies, games, music or what ever. You'd pay the content guys.

What's the advantage? First off you won't be paying $40 a month for internet access then paying $40 moth for content. You just pay for content.

PS: Canada isn't that sparsely populated. 90% of our people live with in a 6 hour drive of the US border.
