AMD introduces budget Athlon 64

actually...: i dont' think it's pure marketing. it also says that sometimes chips don't have a fully operation 1MB cache, but can still work if they limit the cache to 512k. Basically this means they don't havce to throw away those chips, but of course they can't sell them for the same price.. hence the 3000+ number.
