Hmmm...wrong math and conclusion
This table does say more about market acceptance. Impossible to count cpu's and extrapolate perfomance from it, it just doesn't work that way without knowing how sites are implemented and how they would scale. The numbers you use relate to sites, not cpus if I take a look at the table again.

It's more relevant to the number of sites deploying a specific technology. Itanium does score high in the list, before Opteron or Power4(+). Perhaps some people doubt about the future of the chip, but it seems quite a few people don't, otherwise it would nowhere rank as high in the # of sites. I'd look in my crystal ball to see how it evolves, but it's cloudy in there.
