a watch is a watch, but maybe something else....
I've been in the computer field since the TRS-80 came out. One thing I have learned, simple is better. I have a simple analog watch, and the cheapest cell phone I can get. I have a simple Palm PDA instead of more(?) sophisticated Windows-CE based items.

I have had no desire to have cameras in my phone, calculators or such in my watch, or listen to MP3s or watch MPEGs on my PDA. My watch is used to tell time, my phone is used to communicate, and my PDA is used to keep track of things.

(OK ... I'll give that occasionally I use the phone and PDA to tell what time it is.)

The point is that each of these things does what they need to do very well. As soon as you start combining them, comprimises have to be made. Cell phone cameras suck, the quality is poor and it is hard to get the pictures off most of them. Watches have very small display areas and are not suited for displaying text. PDAs are too big and bulky to use as a phone.

Now, what might work.....

A Cellular/WiFi/bluetooth enabled PDA with a headset and watch accessory. The headset for communication, the watch for displaying reminders and alerts. But the PDA is the central repository of data and can be used to get more info about stocks and traffic jams (but not while driving!!).

That I might buy. If only the battery would last for more than 10 minutes under all the RF load wink
