Microsoft recently announced its intention to introduce time.NET to the world of chronometry.

"It is my goal that, by the end of 2006, there will be a watch on every wrist and a clock on every wall," stated Microsoft founder Bill Gates. He mumbled the next part, but our microphones picked up, "And all of them on Microsoft time."

The new time.NET includes a bold move to migrate the world to a 37-hour day. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said, "It is to allow more time in the day for people to play X-box, recently reduced to $179, by the way."

When asked to comment about the new time.NET 37-hour day, noted Canadian film star Rip Torn said, "Well, you'll get used to it. Or you'll have a psychotic episode."

When asked if utilities would be available to convert current watches and clocks to the new time.NET extended day, Mr. Gates replied, "Yeah, sure. We'll get right on it."
