Sorta of a goofy idea but these have some cool features
I saw prototypes at a conference this Fall. Basically what's cool about these is that they use an FM subcarrier frequency to receive data through an embedded radio receiver. You can program the types of data you want from a Web page. For example, I can have traffic information sent to the watch or movie times or sports scores or whatever. You can also receive short text pages directly from friends or associates. The UI is extremely simple (not always MS's strong suit) so you can see the data in a glance - not a bunch of button pushing.

I think their problem is that a lot of people are using their cell phones for this kind of data. They have to hope that the convenience of having short data snippets easily accessible on the wrist interests enough people.
