Depends what you're comparing to
Well I suppose it does depend on what you're comparing to. Most business class laptops (read IBM, Dell, HP) still rely on Intel chips and I would say my comments relate more to an Intel vs Intel scenario.

A P4-M is an extremely power hungry monster. From the comparisons that I've read the PM chips are just as fast and do have a far superior battery life. Given two machines on being a PM and one a P4-M, I would pick the PM any day.

As for the concept of Centrino... well that's a different story altogether. That I believe is a bit of a scam, insomuch as it's Intel's way of getting you to buy more Intel. The PM chip is better than the P4-M, but why force yourself to stick with a so-so wireless card when there are others that are better?

I'm also not a big fan of tablet PCs. From what I've heard about them, they're even less standardized than laptops. Plus application compatibility is still a problem. (But maybe things have changed?)

Just my 2 bits happy
