Not so strange after all....
"Intel's 'Prescott' chip to keep Pentium 4 name"

I guess this new chip shows no big boost over the current P-4.

If you see where I'm coming from it's safer to keep the name ongoing if the new chips pack no punch, and may give Intel a black eye.
