- I look back at the 60's and 70's and realize all of the progress that was made during that time. Maybe it was the free love or drugs or whatever else but why did we seemingly stop in the late 70's. Aside from Dolly the sheep I can't really think of anything extraordinary that we've done lately. Mars is just an extension to moon travel, the internet and computers are just progression from the brilliant work of those in the 60's. Maybe it's government regulation on everything in site, lack of money for large projects. I'm not really sure what the cause is but I fear the future for my kids.
