... for being all Microsoft and that is not why it is hard to find alternative OSs. That is just plain bunk! The real situation is less insidious. There is no money left in the hardware. OEMs survive by upselling. There is a ton of money in upselling some one to XP Pro or Office. If that OEM sells a PC with Linux there is no upsell opportunities. You cannot upsell a free office package. The OSS model in general is not good business for the OEM!
