Dell was a success
Doesn't mean they will continue to be a success. Seems to me they are trying to stay on top of the mountain. Once you get that high up only way left is down. Smart businesses look to the next mountain to climb. I don't see Dell doing this.

But alas this the way of the public corporation from what I see. You start out providing quality products with good service but to keep in the game profits have to constantly beat last quarter's benchmark. It's not good enough to maintain a steady income. So once you've grown as big as you can what do you do next? Cut quality and service to save a buck and pretend you are growing.

You see this behavior with all large corporations. The best example is fast food. Look how terrible the food has gotten lately. It's smaller and disgusting to eat. Look at the employees they hire, complete idiots who can't get an order right to save thier lives. The way I see it that downhill slide is occuring presently with Dell. They haven't gotten as bad as Fast Food but when comodity like burgers or even cheap computers that's what eventually happens.

What's with that anyway? Why can't people just be happy making billion they currently are. Sure growth is good thing but you can only grow so far in one market.

It seems to me that you can buy a good product from Brand X today but tomorow that product will be just crap. What's with that? No consistancy. I'd think a corporation that consistantly products and quality product with good service would be what I look for. I don't see corporation sacraficing all that made them what they were for false growth is very good economically. But then I'm no economist.
