If you're purchasing a database server, it IS big deal. The AMD architecture is significantly faster than the Intel architecture, and this isn't likely to change any time soon. In basic terms, the Intel design is simply not capable of beating the AMD design currently, and is not likely to any time soon. This effectively takes Dell out of the running for database servers for use in the enterprise.
