I wouldn't count out WMA surviving. The problem is "joe
user" These are the people who use whatever is installed on
the computer when they purchase it. They could care less
what format the files are saved in WMA, AAC, MP3 etc., let
alone know what they mean. As long as they can play the
songs, that's all that matters.

For iTunes to really make an impact, they have to get the
software installed on as many computers as they can and
set to the default player. Otherwise "joe user" just won't
bother with it.

The iTunes Store is the wrinkle, If the store is deemed
superior to the other music stores, this might turn the
tide.The AOL and Pepsi promotions will help, it will be
interesting to see if this is enough.
