Also how about making the PC more than just a ho hum
box? Do something original! I would consider this. Take the
hardware engineers and get them some creative leadership and
let them go! Hire a bunch of software engineers and develop
HP's own verson of Desktop Linux and bundle a bunch of HP
Opensource Apps. Sell these new HP PC's will two partitions one
for Windows (sold seperatly) and one already bungled with Linux
desktop and a bunch of usable opensource apps.
