Too little too late? 64 bit computing is not mainstream, outside of the limited enterprise market, no one uses 64bit. What is Intel late to? A better conclusion is that AMD was too early.
Caught intel sleeping? Well, if an ant caught an elephant sleeping, I don't think that it would matter in the end.

I have no problem with AMD and their products. It's just that, despite AMD's inroads recently, they have only just begun to chip away at Intel's lead. Unfortunetly for AMD, marketing has as much to do with selling processors as the technology itself.

There is a reason why Intel can charge more for their processors, even though they may not be as fast as the equivelant AMD one. Intel is a recognized brand which people trust. AMD is not, yet.
