I don't think you see the problems...
They're not talking about, preventing people from pirating, they are talking about doing basic, legal, and desirable things to content and software that YOU BOUGHT and OWN. If I buy a DVD, I want the right to back it up in any form I see fit. I don't want to send it to all my friends. I don't want to sell it on the street, I want the content in the form I desire.
If I buy a piece of software, I don't want to reverse engineer it, and don't want to copy it for sale on eBay. I do want to back it up however I want, and install and delete it of any computer, or console, when I want, how I want.
This is why I don't agree with some activations for software, limiting where I put it and how many times I can move it.

If media companys had their say, they would NOT let us record shows, or fast forward commercials, look away from the TV, or even blink for that matter.
