Seems little different than what IBM started doing in the '60s, and continues to do today. Sun does not indicate what constitutes a CPU. What model CPU? How fast? Do they bill on wall clock hours or CPU hours. Many questions remain unanswered and the details on their web site do not elaborate any. For my money I will continue to use 'wintel' and 'lintel'. More hosting/leasing options, can purchase the equipment from many vendors. I suppose if I were doing protein folding computations or nuclear decay modeling I might feel differently, but I am not and neither are most of the rest of us out there.
