- Whats the big deal oaver VOIP?

Voice Over IP? Who cares? Woopty do, its just a lousy phone call. What makes sending it over the Internet so sexy? Ater all once you digitize the voice its just data, the same data the Internet carries everyday.
Why is it haralded as such an advancement in technology when two geeks accross the room talk to each other through little headsets over the internet?
