There are no absolutes, especially the "they can do anything" absolute!
As a physicist, don't tell me "everything is possible" -- That is equally unreasonable.
I happen to work in condensed matter physics, and am quite acquainted with the "physical limits for recording density" problem.
Companies are aiming to invest in out-of-plane magnetization based devices, but there are tons of problems which are very difficult to overcome -- I'm not saying they're impossible -- such as proximity effects and controlling chirality. OTOH, wait a few years, until quantum computing comes -- yes, it is coming closer to reality -- and there will be a new storage density boom. However, it might take a decade for this to happen, maybe more.
I would wish people would stop looking at scientists as though they were wizards. We're not supposed to do daily miracles, are we?
