True, but...
AMD has been pulling off some great moves, while Intel continues to fumble.

AMD chose the 64bit x86 path, why Intel shrugged and said that Desktop users don't need 64 Bit. AMD worked on the 64 Bit x86 server, while Intel thought that changing architecture would be to their advantage.
AMD pitched the more power per clock cycle way before Intel, so when Intel pitched it, it was old hat.

Lastly, Intel released the prescott even after realizing the amount of heat problems the PCs have with them. That alone has really hurt the company in the eyes of the performance junkies.

The Mobile market has been Intel's redeeming factor as of late.
