AMD already owns Intel
AMD has taken market share from Intel in every segment including laptop-desktop and the lucrative server market. In fact AMD had greater desktop sales than Intel last quarter, which is a milestone.

The 35W A64 laptop chippies have basically made Centrino obsolete like the rest of Intel's product line. A 20W laptop chip will appeal to the frugal. Many laptop users are power users who want desktop performance while on the go. Battery life is important but the difference between a 35W CPU and 20W CPU is not Earth shattering. The 20W laptops will just offer a product to those who feel the need for a laptop toy at a lower price.
