I have a feeling this is only the beginning..
I think, yet again, we're going to see mass usage of software / hardware / "Standards" become a defacto standard, regardless of how many people disagree.

Not trying to troll, but I see this as a start of an IE-type standards war. IE might not follow (well, ok.. It doesn't follow) the internet standards to a T, but since a majority of people use it, people code for it, regardless of who is complaining about it not following standards.

Same here.. China is now trying to become a defacto standard because of it's growing internet savvy populace. I wonder where it will end..

Oh, one last thing. I mentioned before when China announced it would be using, in the government, Linux for a large portion of it's computers. I am willing to bet that China would be more than willing to modify the source code, share the compiled version around without the source code changes forcing people to rely upon it's will, regardless of standards, GPL, etc..

Sorry, just my paranoia kicking in.. I haven't had a donut this morning yet and need to run out to Dunkin' Donuts..
