If EPIC deliver its promise Itanium will be a killer chip. At least in paper is quite impresive. But paper support everything... right.

Roger, quite weak your point to washout Itanium "Programming is different". Source will be maintained just like current X86, PPC, PA-RISC source, it all comes down to: is money on it?.; if there is, programmer will be lined up. Challenge for HP is to spread Yes there is.

Intel would be great deal of help, but since AMD is kicking Intel's a$$, I don't know how commited to Itanium Intel is. That a real drawback for HP.
