I see proof
Outside of two components; hardware & software pointing method, the components are the same a most $1000 or sub $1000 notebooks. the processors are usually Via, Caruso, or Pentium-m any where from 800 mhz to 1.5 Ghz. mostly because of heat and power consumption. They lack optical media that the notebooks might have and mem is at least 256m. Touch screen and/or electostic pen is not really that different than a touchpad, so it can only add so much, and if it became popular it would become standard equipment, like color screens, usb, firewire, etc. So what is left is the software. Is it really worth $1000 more?

MS is trying to pawn off apps as some sort of special OS not only Tablet, but SmartScreen & Media Center as well. all of these are apps that can be had for windows or linux for under $50. Pen & Internet, Snapstream, Freevo, VLC VNC, etc, etc. What exactly are you paying for?
