Your CISC/RISC argument died about 10 years ago as today's x86 have RISC techniques built in and the classic RISC chips have complex instructions. Get a clue.

I hate to burst your excitement bubble on MS's use of IBM chips for Xbox, but it has everything to do keeping the architecture as closed as possible and avert hacking. MS knows that the Apple/IBM architecture is niche and more difficult to get hackers to install linux on it.
