This could work out well for BOTH sides. Lenovo is a strong and competent computer manufacturer, and if the thinkpad quality stays high - people WILL continue to buy. IBM smartly kept one foot in by aquiring a percentage of Lenovo. Maybe Lenovo becomes a high-quality manufacturer for their servers too? IBM wants to commoditize POWER chips, so maybe Lenovo gets into THAT market. Whatever the outcome, IBM will still win.
