Not surprising ...
I know people that are already looking for 64 bit systems for their Linux desktops. And now Windows is scaling up as well with multiple versions for multiple commodity processer architectures. I suspect that 128 bit commodity architecture machines are not that far off. I also suspect that IBM will be joining the fray by making PowerPC a commodity processer alongside the Intel and AMD products. It is this upward push by commodity hardware that is killing off the old Unix workstation and server business.
