The reality is yes Dell did make some progress in China but a small gain while Lenovo lost market share but negligible. But there were no such thing like lost 'rapidly'. Don't cheer too rapidly. The biggest player in China coupled with the world's best brand name in IT called IBM is going to hurt Dell badly in China.

Microsoft may need to subsidize Dell to sell for a loss in China like the X-Box and the PPC to keep looking good on the outside when it is not inside.

IBM has the best brand name all over the world for IT. Dell is no match for IBM brand name.
